New AdBlue mixing stations at LAT Nitrogen in France

22. 5. 2026

LAT Nitrogen is one of the pioneers in the production of AdBlue®. This product has been manufactured at the urea production plant in Linz since the early 2000s. From here, it is mainly sold to Austria, southern Germany and neighbouring Eastern European countries.

Our sister company Greenchem, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers and distributors of AdBlue®, took over the sale of AdBlue® from LAT Nitrogen almost a year ago. With its new AdBlue® dissolution and filling stations, LAT Nitrogen is helping its sister company Greenchem to further expand its leading position in the European market.

In addition to the direct production of AdBlue® in Linz, LAT Nitrogen has also commissioned two dissolution and filling stations at its plants in Ottmarsheim and Grandpuits in France. The sister companies SKW Piesteritz and Duslo Šaľa have access to prilled urea, known as automotive-grade urea (AGU), which can be used as a raw material. This offers logistical advantages, as there is no need to transport water, which opens up new markets. The new system comprises a dissolution tank in which AGU urea granules are dissolved in demineralised water. The 32.5% urea solution obtained in this way is transferred to two storage tanks prior to dispatch.

Pavel Hanus, Commercial Director of LAT Nitrogen and Managing Director of Greenchem, comments on this initiative: “This is an important step: for Greenchem, to strengthen its position in the French market, but also for LAT Nitrogen, to increase its capacity for this value-added product. At the same time, this clearly demonstrates how synergies within the AGROFERT Group can be optimally utilised to consolidate its leading position in this key chemical sector on a long-term basis.”
