AGROFERT Group reported a stable profit of CZK 2.2bn in 2025, similar to the previous year without extraordinary items

1. 7. 2026

The AGROFERT Group's consolidated profit after tax reached CZK 2.2 billion in 2025. In 2024, it amounted to CZK 7.1 billion. However, the year 2024 was significantly positively impacted by the income from the sale of the MAFRA, LONDA and Synthesia group companies. Without this extraordinary effect, this is a similar result as in the previous year.

In 2025, the AGROFERT Group supplied its customers with goods, products and services worth CZK 212.2 billion. Compared to the previous year, its consolidated earnings increased by CZK 467 million.

Consolidated Total Assets of the AGROFERT Group decreased from CZK 203.6 billion to CZK 201.3 billion year-on-year, primarily due to a decrease in fixed assets.

AGROFERT confirmed position of the second largest Czech exporter last year, and has long been among the largest Czech investors in Slovakia, Germany, Austria, France and Hungary. The Group's total sales from abroad represent almost two thirds of our income,” said Zbyněk Průša, chairman of the board of directors of AGROFERT.

The number of employees of the companies of the AGROFERT Group in 2025 was 28,184 on average, of which the Czech companies of the group employed 17,183 people. Accordingly, the group confirmed its leading position among the largest Czech private employers.

We value the work of our employees. We paid out CZK 21.4 billion in wages worldwide last year,” said Zbyněk Průša, chairman of the board of directors of AGROFERT.

The AGROFERT Group’s basic operating principle is that the money it earns in the Czech Republic are also taxed here and the net profit is reinvested in group’s further development. Last year, AGROFERT invested a total of CZK 6.1 billion in the Czech Republic, CZK 12.9 billion in total worldwide. Major part of this amount (CZK 5.3 billion) was spent in the chemical industry, renewables and fuels, followed by food industry (CZK 3.5 billion) and agriculture (CZK 3.0 billion).

Despite the fact that most of our revenue comes from abroad, we are still proud to be a Czech company. We take it for granted that the money we earn here, we will also tax here. Last year, we paid more than CZK 4 billion in taxes and levies in the Czech Republic,” stressed Zbyněk Průša, chairman of the board of directors of AGROFERT.

Investment in sustainability

In 2025, the companies of the AGROFERT Group invested more than CZK 2 billion in the ecology of their operations. Chemical industry, renewables and fuels companies invested the most, 1.7 CZK billion. For example, CZK 364 million was invested in an industrial energy source by the German company SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz, CZK 213 million in the reduction of emissions at the Nitric Acid 2 plant by the Slovak company Duslo and CZK 70 million in the disposal of emissions from the plasticiser plant by the Czech company Deza.

Investment in 2026

In 2026, we plan a year-on-year increase in investments, which should reach approximately CZK 17 billion. This year's capital expenditures will primarily focus on improving the efficiency of chemicals and food production and, of course, on the greening of production and energy savings. The most significant planned projects include the commencement of construction of a new line for lye bakery products at the German company Lieken Brot, the initiation of a biogas production project at joint venture Ethanol Energy, the completion of construction of a new bakery line for McDonald’s in Germany, the completion of construction of a new chicken slaughterhouse in Vodňany, the continuation of construction of a new toast line in Hungary, and investments in tertiary emission reduction systems at Lovochemie, SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz and LAT Nitrogen and preparation for the construction of a new ammonium nitrate unit in France. Additionally, we plan to start and/or complete the construction of several cowsheds including milking parlours in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

We will keep on investing in the modernization of our chemical, food, agricultural, wood and other operations,” added Zbyněk Průša, chairman of the board of directors of AGROFERT.

AGROFERT also remains interested in further development through acquisitions. At the end of March 2026, it completed the acquisition of OCI Ammonia Holding, which is the owner an ammonia import and storage terminal in Rotterdam. At the beginning of June this year, AGROFERT announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire 50% of equity interest in Nitrogen Intermediate Holding; the transaction completion is subject to satisfaction of certain regulatory approvals. The Group is continuously looking for suitable investment opportunities in all segments of its operations, especially in the regions of Central and Southern Europe. More recent acquisitions confirm also its active development in Western Europe. However, the main focus is currently on the development and consolidation of completed acquisitions and existing group companies.

A more favourable outlook for 2026

This year, AGROFERT's board of directors expects an improvement in performance, especially in the fertilizer production segment, which should return to its usual performance after several difficult years.

We expect a significant improvement, particularly in the LAT Nitrogen group, where the positive effects of the implemented synergies and saving measures should become evident. We also expect slightly improved performance in the specialty chemicals and renewable resources segments. Performance in the food production segment is expected to remain similar to last year’s. In the agriculture segment, we expect a slight year-on-year decline in performance, particularly in primary agricultural production, where fairly low market prices of crop commodities and falling milk prices may negatively impact the results,” stated Zbyněk Průša, chairman of the board of directors of AGROFERT.
